The most important news out there is that Andy Pettitte has been named the AL Pitcher of the Month for August!. He has some tough starts in September but I know he can continue to pitch well.
In case you were unsure, Orioles fans are still angry at pretty much everything. You probably would be too if Peter Angelos owned the team you root for.
The White Sox also have unhappy fans who will probably be even more unhappy if the rumor that Ozzie Guillen is signing an extension soon is true. At least he’s good for laughs?
Filip Bondy devoted a column today that is one giant whine that Joba Chamberlain should be on the rotation now. While the rotation needs a boost, the bullpen does as well and I’d rather see him there for the rest of the season. Plus, a rotation of three rookie pitchers while making a playoff push is not really a great idea. I’m still holding out hope that they convert him into a closer rather than a starter since they’re much harder to find and Mariano is getting on in years. I am apparently the only one, though.
More Squirrel Propoganda. I swear the Yankees are putting that poor guy up there on purpose. Hopefully he doesn’t get killed by a homerun.
Finally, this is why a baseball player should never plan an October wedding. Yes, I know that wasn’t expected that he would be on the roster (or that the Yankees might be playing in October) but stil, an unwise move. Hopefully his fiancee does not kill him because we need Ian Kennedy’s arm in the rotation.
