Soft Pillows Are Killing The Yankees In Toronto

Kyle Farnsworth woke up with a stiff neck the first morning the Yanks were in Toronto and was unavailable for the whole series against the Blue Jays, Torre said. Farnsworth said he hoped to be able to pitch tonight. He played catch the first two games of the series, but felt pain, so he did nothing but get treatment yesterday. “I think I slept on it wrong,” he said. “I don’t know if the pillow is too soft, but my neck’s tight. It’s gotten a little better since day 1.”

Although the Bombers have changed hotels, Farnsworth was the third Yankee to wake up achy in Toronto. Luis Vizcaino had a stiff back Tuesday and Jorge Posada missed a series in Cleveland after waking up with a stiff neck during a Toronto trip.

Why couldn’t these allegedly “too soft pillows” have affected Chris Britton as well? Bad luck strikes again.
