The offseason is boring, especially during the holidays and when there are no free agents of note to follow. I suddenly have a lot of time to fill, and here’s what I’ve been doing:
- Giving the Yankees lots of money for tickets next year. They raised the prices a Hell of a lot (and cut the Tier into two sections now so they could price the good seats higher) and I did whine, but then I gave in. I am frightened to think of what the prices will be in 2009.
- Getting angry at Jon Heyman’s awesome who is using his Hall of Fame votes for column. Apparently Bert Blyleven is too dependent on counting stats like strikeouts to grace the hall of fame because he didn’t have enough 20 win seasons when “lots of people” (playing for much better teams) had them. The most hilarious part of using the RARGH COUNTING STATS!! excuse is that if Blyleven had just 13 more wins (the most important stat for any pitcher, of course) nobody would be arguing!
- Dicking around with some friends making What if Sports MLB teams.
- Trying not to throw my Wii out the window in anger because Fire Emblem is at times infuriating.
I am really bored, pitchers and catchers cannot report fast enough.
