Caught this during the game on ESPN tonight, A.J. Pierzynski’s reaction to letting a fastball get away from him and possibly killing the home plate umpire:
I wish that they would make use of the mics they put on players more instead of having fluff interview pieces with people like Ozzie Guillen. Hell, put a mic on Guillen or someone similar and randomly go to it when it looks like he is mouthing off. Especially in a game like this where nothing exciting is happening causing Miller and Morgan to talk about fabulous teams such as the 1988 Orioles for extended periods of time.
Also, while I know it’s a wild pitch, who knew that you could score on an “ump is down and possibly dead” play?
