Second leg of my summer vacation: PNC Park in Pittsburgh. What a great park, it’s really amazing that the Pirates have what is seriously the nicest ballpark around. I guess it’s an attempt to pull in fans even though the team isn’t any good (yet), but the prices aren’t cheap enough to make it really worth it to non-masochists. It’s also full of insane ushers who were yelling at people who tried to move one measly section over (not us, I am too lazy to move once I am in my seat) in a ballpark that was 75% empty.
- It’s good this was here, I almost forgot what team I was there to see.
- The scoreboard at PNC complete with blinding lights.
- Bullpens are a land of excitement and joy.
- The view from Section 316–nice!
- The view from section 316 at sunset.
- I liked the on-deck circle at PNC.
- The city at night from Section 316.
- The city during sunset from Section 316.
- Artistic rendering of Doug Mientkiewicz as a pirate.
- Night view from Section 316.
- View from Section 307.
- The ushers in the red shirts are evil old men. Also, retired numbers!
- There are a lot of bridges in Pittsburgh.
- The view from Section 307.
- Looking at the 25% full stadium from Section 307.
- Honestly, about 16,000 seems a bit high but yikes in any case.
