Are the Steelers the greatest franchise ever? Apparently according to David Fleming, they are. You might respond with something like “But the Yankees have won 26 Championships!!”. In Flemingworld that doesn’t matter because the Steelers are nice and the Yankees are mean. Civic duty trumps the actual deeds of the teams in this alternate reality.

He also manages to not mention the Celtics or Canadiens in the conversation at all. Great research and great arguments. I love sports journalism.

This doesn’t deserve a giant post with lots of justification because it makes so much sense. The Yankees should sign Adam Dunn now that he hasn’t been offered arbitration. No I don’t know where he would play position wise and I honestly don’t care as long as it’s not SS/2B. He’ll cost less (a lot less) than Teixeira and will give the lineup some of the power that it desperately needs with Giambi out of the picture.

Handy link to Keith Law’s top 50 free agents. Texiera is #1, CC is #2, AJ Burnett is #4. I still don’t want him–I’m so tired of glassboned pitchers. I completely understand he is an extremely talented guy but he’d take too many years unless his market dries up very quickly, which it will not.
