A month has ended and a new month has started and that means silly pitching graphs! Since there’s not a whole lot of data out there yet I am just doing the basics. In case you’re not familiar: FIP is a statistic that only takes the things the pitcher directly controls (Walks, Hit Batters, Strikeouts, [...]
Important Facts Learned At Yankee Stadium
At Yankee Stadium the first time a player comes up to the bat, or when nothing is going on offensively in a game, the Armitron (that’s the giant TV screen thing in the middle of the place) usually displays some important fascinating fact about him since there’s nothing to note about the game so far. Yankees Team ERA/FIP By Month
August is through the 14th. FIP is limited, I’m going to see if I can find *tRA or xFIP by month and take a look there. The team is hurt somewhat by walks and homeruns but helped by their very high (best in the AL) strikeout rate.

Flashback to a Time Before baseball-reference.com
Going through some really old comics of mine, I found this ad from about 1997: Not sure what a shortstop has to do with runners never reaching second but hey, it’s cute.
Pat Venditte Is The Best Gimmick
I went to the first game of my Staten Island Yankees ticket plan today, and was very excited to see Pat Venditte pitching. I even used my camera to grab some videos: End of his warmups, you can see him switch arms here: First batter, throwing lefty: Second batter, throwing righty: Third batter: throwing lefty [...]
